Here Are Five Things You Can Do To Celebrate Earth Day In Colorado
Years and years ago, while trying to impress a girl, I showed up to pick her up on Earth Day with a few trees in the back of the car. We hiked up into the Poudre Canyon on Earth Day and planted them. She was impressed for a few years. No, it didn't work out in the end.
But I do still wonder about those trees and if they made it!

Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 every year, and this year is no different. It's a day to celebrate all this world has to offer and do something good for the planet. No matter which side of the political spectrum you lean, at least we can all agree this is our home and we'd like it to stay looking nice and clean, right?
So here's five things you can do on Earth Day 2025 to make even a little difference. If everyone does their part, even just a day a year, things will be just that much better.
1. Plant Something
It really is that easy, and you can do it anywhere. Do it at your house or neighborhood, or anywhere really. Plant a flower, plant a tree - you could even plant a little herb garden.
2. Clean Up Something
Litter is not only ugly to look at, but bad for the planet. It can kill vegetation around it, poison the wildlife or worse. Organize a cleanup somewhere, or even head out solo for the day, to pick up a little trash.
3. Go Plastic-Free for the Day
If only we could do this year round. Plastic is bad for our environment. Yes, paper straws are pretty awful. But we could all use a little less plastic even for just a day.
4. Bike, Walk or Take Public Transit
This is something we should regularly do anyway - the biking and walking, mostly. It helps get or keep you in shape, but especially on Earth Day, how nice is it to reduce our carbon emissions?
5. Support Eco-Friendly Brands or Donate to a Cause
Maybe you don't have time to get out and clean up a park somewhere, or maybe you can't give up your single use plastics. To each their own... but maybe donate to a conservation organization who's doing the work for us all - not just on Earth Day, but 365 days a year - to offset it.
