Winter in Colorado has been very weird this year. I cannot remember a time when we practically had no snow in all of the years that I have lived here. When it comes to snow in Colorado, we usually see the most in the months of March and April. So there is still plenty of time to get some of that much-needed moisture into the ground.

Snow Still Missing From the Colorado Forecast

Looking ahead at the Global Forecasting System, it appears there is no snow in sight for the Front Range of Colorado for the remainder of February, however. Before you know it, we will be in springtime conditions with a bit warmer weather than we have now, plus rain showers and thunderstorms.

Warm and Wet Spring Expected on the Front Range

According to the Farmer's Almanac Spring 2026 Weather Forecast, the Front Range of Colorado is calling for a warm, wet spring. This could mean we may experience severe thunderstorms and quite a bit of rain.

Colorado's Front Range is part of the Farmer's Almanac High Plains region that spans from Bismarck, South Dakota, to Amarillo, Texas. The 2026 spring extended forecast is calling for warmer than normal temperatures with rainfall above average in our neck of the woods.

The Farmer's Almanac appears to be giving us a glimpse into what we can expect for the summer months, too, as the forecast says that there could be periods of extreme heat through the summer.

Whether it's thunderstorms or upper nineties, I can take it. Just as long as there isn't property-damaging hail. I think we have all had about as much as we can take with that type of severe weather.
