Before I start this article I have to admit that I have never been a huge fan of any Homeowners Association. I am a proud homeowner so I try to make sure my home is looking nice but the fact that a group of people can send me a fine in the mail because I don't follow their rules specifically drives me nuts. So, whenever you're looking at possibly purchasing a home make sure you know about the HOA guidelines.

Okay, now to this ridiculous story about an HOA using their power to make it against their policy for a Colorado law enforcement officer to fly a blue line flag (supporting law enforcement) outside of his own home. Now to make this even more mind-boggling is the fact that this officer has been flying a flag similar to this for over seven years, but all of a sudden now it has created an issue.

According to 4 CBS Denver, this officer has been serving Colorado for 17 years, received his very first HOA complaint about the flag and flagpole. The officer who wants to remain anonymous says he is going to fight the complaint and according to HOA rules he has 14 days to do so.

This could result in the officer being asked to remove the flagpole, or it might work out in his favor and he will be able to fly his flag. Only time will tell, but it is very interesting that all of a sudden this proud officers flag and flag pole has created an issue in this Colorado neighborhood.

Do you support the officer and his desire to have a flagpole and blue line flag on his property?
