One of Colorado's most popular tourist destinations is now indefinitely closed due to the Grizzly Creek Fire.

According to Fox31, the U.S. Forest Service decided to close Hanging Lake after observing burned trees and possible fire damage near the area's lower trail.

Thankfully, the blaze has not significantly damaged the actual lake and its surrounding stream.

Aerial photos taken by the U.S. Forest Service on Wednesday (August 19) show the lake unharmed, boasting its famous green hue.

However, because the fire is not yet contained, officials are unable to ensure safe access to the area.

Until then, Hanging Lake will remain off limits.
