Grand Junction Man’s Dog Gets Sprayed in the Face By Skunk
A Grand Junction man's dog got sprayed right in the face last night around 11:30 p.m. Poor Shea spent three hours washing his dog to get rid of the smell.
Shea Bramer let his dog, Lego, out to use the bathroom at his house in the Redlands around 11:30 p.m. last night without thinking twice about it. He was doing dishes and had the windows open while he let his dog out and smelled a skunk so he immediately ran outside to get his dog.

His dog came running in as Shea came running out. He said Lego was drooling and threw up a bit because the skunk sprayed him right in the mouth and chest. His dog ran around for a minute in the house while they figured out what they were going to do.
Shea took a trip to Walmart with his girlfriend and grabbed some peroxide, baking soda, dish soap, rubber gloves, and a bucket and took the dog to a car wash. He said the dog was in the bed of the pickup truck, so thankfully they didn't have to deal with the smell while driving around. Shea says there was no way he was going to wish Lego in his bathtub at his house.
Shea was, unfortunately, dealing with the skunk smell from 11:30 to 2 a.m. He said he must have found the skunk right by a bush by the house, and his dog chased the skunk to the edge of the yard before running back in. He said the smell woke up his entire house, including his kids in the basement.
The reason why Shea used peroxide instead of tomato juice, is because Lego is a purebred Siberian husky with a whole lot of fur and peroxide helps get through the fur and gets rid of the smell. Shea said the situation wiped Lego out, he's usually very energetic and today, he was a lot more mellow.
Shea has had two huskies before Lego, and he says they're notorious for snooping where they shouldn't. Unfortunately, huskies love skunks and think everything is a chew toy so this was Shea's third time dealing with skunks.
He's a pro at getting that skunk smell out, we joked around and considered him opening his own business called Skunk N' Funk.
