A small dog was found severely injured on the side of a highway in Colorado. The poor dog was hit by a car and taken to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.

Dr. Sue Lynch is the Chief Veterinarian at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region and knew that Jim, who's a chihuahua mix, was a special dog the minute she saw him. Jim the dog was so sweet despite all of his injuries and pain, including a pelvic fracture, according to KRDO.

The dog had to have one of his legs amputated and had surgery on his fractured pelvis and was still in good spirits. We think that Jim was so thankful that someone brought him in and Dr. Sue Lynch/Colorado Canine Orthopedics fixed him up, he wanted to show her just how grateful he was.

The Colorado veterinarian says what really got her to adopt Jim is that he took notice of her and has the most beautiful face you've ever seen. She took him home as a foster pet for a couple of days and as soon as she did, she knew it was her dog.

According to KRDO, she says it her dog as soon as she brought him home because her entire family fell in love with the dog. Both Dr. Sue Lynch's daughter and her husband are in love. Dr. Sue Lynch couldn't leave Jim's future up in the air, so she's making sure he's going to have a great one by adopting him.

Plus Jim gets along with her 75 lb dog, who Dr. Sue Lynch also saved after he was hit by a car. We love to see Colorado animals get the forever homes they deserve.
