A Grand Junction animal shelter is in need of food donations. Can you help out?

CLAWS, Cat's League and Assistance of the Western Slope, a non-profit 501c3 organization, is in need of food donations. They reached out via social media requesting assistance. According to their official Facebook page:

CLAWS needs help to feed our hungry kitties. Kitten season has started with a bang and we have taken in a large number of mommas and babies, as well as groups of kitties that have lost their owner or home. The kitties thank you for all you do to help them.

CLAWS, the largest cat rescue between Denver and Salt Lake City, is a guaranteed adoption facility. In other words, the cats and kittens have a home at the shelter until such time as they are adopted.

Who staffs the shelter? According to their Facebook page, 95% of their services and activities are performed by volunteers.

Are you interested in donating food items? Where can you find CLAWS? They are located at 2214 Sanford Drive, Unit A5, in Grand Junction. The shelter's hours are:

  • Monday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Thursday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Friday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
