A Colorado Mesa University graduate just walked away with his 2nd Grammy for Regional Roots Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

Kalani Pe'a, a former music student at Mesa State College (now CMU), won the award for his album No 'Ane'I.

This is Pe'a's 2nd Grammy win in three years. He picked up the Grammy in the same category at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards for his album E Walea.

Pe'a, a native of Hawaii, attended Mesa State College from 2001 to 2007, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications. His former professors from Colorado Mesa University were quick to send their congratulations.

Immediately after his win, Pe'a sent this message to his fans via Facebook:

While living in Grand Junction, Pe'a worked as an assignment editor at KJCT Channel 8.
