A 60-year-old man in Grand Junction turned himself in and is facing multiple sex crime charges against a child. The charges stem from three different children.

60-year-old Gregory Trout from Grand Junction turned himself in yesterday, November 6 after he had a warrant out for his arrest.

He is facing multiple sex crime charges stemming from incidents with three separate children victims, according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. All alleged incidents occurred between 1988-2019:

  • 7 counts of sexual assault on a child, pattern of abuse - class 3 felony
  • One count of indecent exposure - misdemeanor

Although the charges stem from three different children, there's more. According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, more victims were identified and interviewed, but the alleged crimes were beyond the statute of limitations.

Gregory Trout is currently at the Mesa County Detention Facility and is on a no-bond hold until he goes to court.

I'm not sure what kind of punishment Gregory will receive if he's charged with these crimes but it does appear that he has a pattern. The crimes he committed against children (that aren't past the statute of limitations) start in 1988 until now, 2019.

That's over 30 years of allegedly committing the same crime over and over again. There's no date posted for Gregory Trout's first court date, which he is on a no-bond hold until his first court appearance, according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.
