For anyone who enjoys musicals, or musical theater for that matter, there’s an event going on this weekend that you will enjoy.

The Theater Project is presenting the musical 42nd Street this Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18 at Grand Junction High School’s auditorium, 1400 North 5th Street in Grand Junction.

42nd Street is a musical set in 1933. The story focuses on aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer, and takes everyone along her journey of hard work, being in the right place at the right time, talent and love. Musical hits include "You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me", "Dames", "I Know Now", "We're In the Money", "Lullaby of Broadway", "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" and "Forty-Second Street".

This show is designed to be fun for the entire family.

Performance times are 7:00 p.m. each day, and a matinee is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors.

The Theater Project is an adult community theater company presenting quality theater and music theater performances throughout the year.  Proceeds from these performances benefit the Youth Theater Project, which is a tuition-free theater program for students throughout the Grand Valley.
