Former Rockies Star Larry Walker Makes Hall of Fame

The Colorado Rockies finally have a star in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Larry Walker was voted in on Tuesday. The former 1997 NL MVP for the Rockies earned 76.6 percent of the vote — he needed 75 percent to join.

Former New York Yankees star Derek Jeter also got the call to Cooperstown on Tuesday.

Walker had Tweeted earlier in the day that he didn't expect to get the call.

Walker played 17 years in the majors, including the stretch of 1995-2004 with Colorado. He also played for the Montreal Expos and St. Louis Cardinals.

Walker batted .313, collected 2,160 hits, 383 home runs and 1,311 RBI's in his career.

The Rockies plan to retire Walker's No. 33 in April.
