If you're not sure what Fat Tuesday is, you're not alone, a lot of people think it is just part of the party of Mardi Gras. Before we start talking about all the festivities here is what Fat Tuesday really is, it's the day before Ash Wednesday. It's the celebration and the opportunity to enjoy your favorite food or snack that you give up for the long Lenten season. So, a big party of over-indulging really is what it's all about.

There are multiple parties taking place around Grand Junction for Fat Tuesday (Tuesday, February 25th).

  • The Ale House in Grand Junction (2531 North 12th Street) - hosting their party beginning at 11:00 a.m. There will be Fat Tuesday Cajun food specials and all the class cocktails. You can expect there to be drink specials on Hurricanes, Sazaracs and more.
  • Feisty's Fat Tuesday Night (359 Colorado Ave) - The Feisty Pint Fat Tuesday Party begins at 4:00 p.m. There will be festive cocktails, delicious cajun food, and enough beads for everyone that shows up. Plus, you can taste the Oskar Blues Death by King Cake.
  • Fat Tuesday Party (201 2nd Street in Clifton) - The Triple Tree Tavern in Clifton is hosting their Fat Tuesday party beginning at 2:00 p.m. There will be free gumbo while it lasts. Plus lots of drink specials, free beads, and Kings Cake.

We all know that Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras are about having a good time, but don't ruin the night by drinking and driving. Plan a sober ride home before you go out. Never get behind the wheel after you have been drinking alcohol. It's just not worth it.
