There are two kinds of people in the world. People who have dogs, and people who love dogs. Now, you can love your dog, even if it doesn't sleep with you. But, if you let your dog sleep in bed with you, it's a sure sign that you love your dog. My name is Zane. I love my dog.

Frisco is a 6 year-old, medium-sized black lab mix. Frisco was spoiled as a puppy by my wife, who successfully convinced Frisco that she is a lap dog-- and now she is a very big lap dog. How Frisco came to being allowed to sleep in bed with us is a question I can't really answer, but it must be my wife's fault.

Our bedroom is cold- real cold. Whether it's summer or winter the room is cold. My wife likes it cold. The window is open, fans are going - in fact, it's so cold at night in our bedroom we could lease it out as a meat locker and hang sides of beef.

Frisco is a bit of a princess. She doesn't like to be out in the rain, and she doesn't like the cold. Generally, at bed time she starts out on the bed, down around my feet. At some point, she gets up, walks to the other end and makes it known she's ready to crawl under the covers. I oblige my lifting up the covers so she can crawl in.....all the way in. And that's where she stays until morning. At some point, she will stick her nose out from under the covers to see what's going on.

I must love my dog. Why else would this be okay?

Does your dog sleep with you under the covers, or does it stay on the bed outside the covers? Is the bed off limits to your pets? Take our poll below and tell us about the sleeping habits of you and your dog.
