It's been over 40 years since Casa Bonita opened it's doors in Denver, and it is still a classic restaurant.

Casa Bonita offers Mexican dining in a really cool atmosphere that feels more like a cave than a restaurant. It's dimly lit with plenty of trees, water features, special rooms, and attractions. There's even regularly scheduled 'entertainment' - which usually involves someone falling or diving off a rock ledge into a pool of water.  It's cheesy, but the kids love it!

Some people will say the food at Casa Bonita isn't great. I would have to agree with them, but it's not terrible.  For $14 and some change, you can choose the all you can eat option, which includes their fresh made, legendary sopapillas. They are so good!  When you want more, you just raise the little red flag on your table, and the server comes to satisfy your request - and you leave feeling like a stuffed pig.

If you are looking for the finest Mexican food around, this isn't the place. But, it's a very cool dining experience, and the kids absolutely love it.We noticed that most of the people coming through had children. There's plenty of arcade features, old-time photos, and places to explore. It's kind of like a Mexican Chuck E. Cheese.

Growing up in eastern Colorado, I have fond memories of visits to Casa Bonita, which as kids- we thought it was just the coolest thing in the world. All these years later, it seems that has hardly changed at all. It doesn't look like a place that's over 40 years old. It's simply a Denver Classic.
