City of Grand Junction to Hold Sales and Use Tax Seminar for Beginners
Ever wonder exactly what sales and use taxes are and where they go once collected? The City of Grand Junction is hosting informational seminars that will answer those questions.
As a consumer, knowing what these taxes are all about will give you a better understanding about the various city, county and state sales and use taxes and how they are calculated and distributed.
The seminar is also good for business owners, especially owners of new businesses or those who are thinking about starting a business, as it will help ensure they are collecting and filing the correct taxes on time.
Even if you're not sure if your small business should be collecting sales or use taxes, the seminar will give you the information needed to help you learn and ensure you are properly collecting and filing taxes, if required.
People interested can attend either one of two sessions offered. The first session is on Tuesday, November 1 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The second session will be held Wednesday, November 2 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held at City Hall Auditorium.
