Being in business for over 100 years is a noteworthy accomplishment and 100-year-old Mesa County businesses are being celebrated.

The Museums of Western Colorado and the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce are recognizing organizations, agricultural establishments, and businesses that were started in Mesa County and have served residents continuously for 100 years or more.

Applications for the designation will be reviewed by a panel of museum and chamber representatives. A reception will be held to recognize the recipients on December 6 at Museum of the West.

When you consider all of the businesses in Grand Junction that have come and gone in just the last 15 years, it's pretty remarkable to think about something sticking around for 100 years or more. I wonder how many there is that qualify? We'll soon find out.

Applications for 100+ Society nominations are available from the Museums of Western Colorado website.
