Axel Charrette: 2-Year-Old Colorado Boy Killed by Babysitter’s Ex-Boyfriend in Mexico
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican officials say a 2-year-old boy from western Colorado was killed by his babysitter's ex-boyfriend at a vacation home in a Pacific coast resort town.
A family spokesman says Axel Charrette and his 7-year-old brother were being watched by a local woman whose boyfriend entered the home in Sayulita, attacked Axel and threw him in a pool to drown.
The prosecutor's office in the state of Nayarit said Wednesday that the ex-boyfriend had been arrested and charged with rape and murder in the Feb. 28 attack.
Prosecutors say the babysitter has been charged with homicide for failing to stop the attack
