You're used to seeing a flood of purple shirts at the Walk to End Alzheimer's events in more than 600 communities nationwide.

This year, though, the walk is everywhere, as walkers can choose individual paths or safe small groups on walk day. With the crowd dispersing, so to speak, this year's event is sure to be even more visible and has the potential to raise just as many vital funds for Alzheimer's care and research as ever.

Get involved today by donating online or committing to walking and raising money yourself. The Alzheimer's Association provides plenty of fundraising support and fundraising tips, and on Oct. 3, you'll take part in an interactive online experience featuring our very own Zane Matthews before walking your preferred route in your community.

You'll be supporting important research as well as families suffering from Alzheimer's disease. According to its website, the Alzheimer's Association will use donations for initiatives such as:

  • Recruiting and training "hundreds of thousands of advocates to ensure that Alzheimer's disease cannot be ignored."
  • Funding 590 top projects in 31 countries for a total investment of more than $208 million.
  • Challenging researchers worldwide to develop "the first new diagnostic guidelines for Alzheimer's in 27 years."

It all starts with people like you. Click here to learn more about donating online, registering for the walk, and exploring all the good work this organization does.
