You've probably heard the phrase, "there's an app for that" and pilot Raymond Cody found that to be quite helpful when the instrument panel including the navigation equipment in his airplane malfunctioned while en route to Grand Junction Regional Airport.

Cody said he wasn't having any other mechanical problems, he just had no way to notify the Grand Junction Regional Airport of his position and that he needed to to land at the airport.

Cody was able to contact local TSA master coordination center officer Gene Manzanares with his cell phone and using an iPad app, tracked his flight path relaying the information through Manzanares to the airport's control tower who helped Cody land the plane safely in Grand Junction.
