Stand proud, Colorado, you will be well represented for Christmas 2020 in the U.S. Capitol next year.

The U.S. Forest Service announced the Christmas tree on display in the U.S. Capitol next Christmas will come from the Western Slope of Colorado.

This will be the fourth tree sent from Colorado to Washington, D.C. and that's not even the coolest part.

No, the coolest part will be the 10,000 ornaments that will go on the tree that will be made by locals. That's right, in the next few months the Forest Service will start asking locals to make the over 10,000 ornaments that will be going on the tree.

While a tree has yet to be selected, once they identify it, great care will be taken to make sure nothing happens to it until it can be chopped down next November for transport to the nation's Capitol.

But it sure is something we will be able to point to with pride.
