The Grand Junction Police and Fire Departments will face each other in the battle to save lives. The final clash of the titans will occur this Saturday, March 26, from 11 am to 1 pm, at 555 Ute Avenue in Grand Junction. Will you take part in the battle?

For the last two weeks, area law enforcement and fire agencies have been competing against one another in the "Heroes Behind the Badges Blood Drive" for the St. Mary's Regional Blood Center.

You are asked to donate blood and then choose your champion. This Saturday, you can make your blood donation in honor of the Grand Junction Police Department or the Grand Junction Fire Department.

Over the last few weeks, local agencies have challenged one another for the most blood donations. For example, last Wednesday, March 23, the Fruita Police took on the Colorado State Patrol.

The agency receiving the most donations will receive a trophy and a $500 donation to the charity of their choice.

Give the gift of life, and give blood. This Saturday is the last round of the competition, so please don't put it off. Choose your heroes - the GJPD or the GJFD.

In the event you can't make it this Saturday during the drive, you can donate blood at the St. Mary's Regional Blood Center during their normal hours, Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5:30 pm, and on Saturdays from 7 am to noon.
