Waylon Jordan

Is Waylon my real name? Yes. I was born and raised in Grand Junction, and plan to stay here forever. After 15 years of touring with Country bands, I decided to get legit and find a way to play Country music all day without having to live in a van. I came to work for KEKB 15 years ago, and haven’t looked back. When not on the radio, I love performing with the Desert Flyer Band, The Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, The Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra, Cool Jazz, The Frank Bregar Orchestra, Hot Tub Jazz, Clark Gualt’s Swing City Express, and Javier De Los Santos Mariachi San Jose. When not performing music with my groups, I love telling you about all the live music going on around the Western Colorado.

Western Colorado's Little Park Road is a bit rocky, not to mention a little short in the snow department. Why, then, did they pack their skis all the way down this steep and challenging trail?

How Did the ‘Blue’ Campaign for Child Abuse Awareness Begin?

Unfortunately, the Blue Ribbon campaign began as the result of a horrific tragedy. Since 1989, people have been encouraged to wear a blue ribbon as a symbol of their intentions to do their best when it comes to children and family. While Child Abuse Awareness month is technically in April, recent occurrences of child abuse in Western Colorado have ignited the communities to show its "blue."
