To Shingle Shot or Not To Shingle Shot – That is the Question [POLL]

Shot! Shot! Shot! Shot! Shot!... that is what every other commercial on my TV is telling me. If I don't get my Shingles shot right not, I will more than likely explode in the foreseeable future. So, should one get a Shingles shot?

First off, what exactly are Shingles?

According to the ads, if you've ever had Chicken Pox, then you already carry the Shingles virus. Shingles is caused by the varicella zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox.

So, should one pursue getting the shot? My doctor says not only 'No,' but "Hell No!."

To complicate the matter even more, or maybe to simplify it, Shingles shots are quite pricey, and some insurance companies won't cover it.

So, what does one do? According to David Letterman, no stranger to suffering with Shingles, there is no worse pain imaginable. Then again, who needs a diminished immune system?
