Suspect Killed In Shooting on Grand Avenue in Grand Junction

The Grand Junction Police Department has confirmed that a suspect has died following a shooting in the 1700 block of Grand Avenue in Grand Junction.

According to KJCT8.com, officers were summoned to remove a person from outside a home in the 1700 block of Grand Avenue. Upon arrival, police contacted an individual in a vehicle.

Details are few regarding the events that followed. Two officers were involved in the shooting. The suspect died on the scene.

Grand Avenue is currently closed between 17th and 18th streets.

According to KJCT8.com, the two officers were unharmed, and have been placed on administrative leave. The 21st Judicial District Critical Incident Team has been activated.
