In my experience, yes. Does the United States perceive all Coloradoans as potheads? Those traveling into our state seem to believe that marijuana is everywhere. When Colorado residents travel out of state, the people they visit seem to automatically assume we are carrying. Has this been your experience?

Just today, legendary bassist and all-around super cool guy Anthony Wellington from the Victor Wooten Band had a run-in with such an experience. He flew into Denver and made his way to the Boulder Theater. When he walked up to the theater carrying his guitar case, this is what happened:

I just got to the theater. A guy on the street walked up to me and saw my gig bag and immediately offered me some weed. I'm definitely in Colorado!!! But, it's just not my thing." - Anthony Wellington

Not two weeks ago, while driving to Nashville, I stopped off in my dad's hometown, Benton, Illinois, to visit my grandparent's graves. When I arrived at the cemetery, the grounds keeper, who I would estimate to be in his late 70's, having just seen my Colorado license plate, proceeded to ask me this:

Did you bring any of that Colorado Marijuana with you?" - Old Dude at cemetery

So, is this just another example of profiling, or are we Coloradoans collectively perceived as being pot heads?
