The Snooze A.M. Eatery was born in Colorado but so far has not found it's way to the western slope. Maybe it's time.

It's possible you have never heard of Snooze until now. I'm sure you are not alone. That was me until today when I saw an internet discussion about it, which prompted me to investigate.

In 2006, Snooze was founded in Denver by brothers Jon and Adam Schlegel. In eight short years, the breakfast eatery has grown to nine front range locations, and has expanded to California, Arizona, and Texas.

Their goal is simple- "evolve the A.M. dining experience through culinary innovation, an eclectic and energetic atmosphere and comfortable and friendly service."

So what makes Snooze unique and different from a multitude of other breakfast options? Here's a look at some of their menu offerings.

Breakfast Pot Pie
Snooze’s homemade rosemary sausage gravy smothers a flaky puff pastry, topped with an egg your style (we’d say sunny side up!). You’ve reached breakfast bliss, complete with hash browns.

Snooze Spuds Deluxe
A heaping portion of our hash browns, covered with melted cheddar & jack cheese, scallions plus the choice of two fillings. Topped with two cage-free eggs your style!

Shrimp & Grits
Homestyle cheesy grits loaded with sautéed shrimp, andouille sausage, peppers and leeks, topped with a cage-free sunny side up egg.

Juan’s Breakfast Tacos
Three fresh corn or flour tortillas topped with scrambled eggs, shredded hash browns, jack cheese, green chile hollandaise & pico de gallo.

They also offer a variety of pancakes, including their signature sweet potato pancakes. Additionally, they have some lighter offerings, as well as various coffee offerings and morning cocktails.

I am a total breakfast guy. I could eat breakfast any time day or night, night or day. While I'm not one to be creative with my breakfast choices - I tend to like it plain and simple- some of these offerings from snooze look extremely tantalizing like that breakfast pot pie.

A Snooze in Grand Junction makes a lot of sense. While they cater to all ages, it feels like they lean more toward a younger demographic. A college town like Grand Junction seems like a perfect fit.

However, before I can give this potential addition ( key word is "potential) to Grand Junction a hearty endorsement, I must give Snooze a personal try. As soon as I do, I will report my findings with a big thumbs up, or two thumbs down.
