Give Blood and get a ticket to go to a JUCO game

Once again this year St. Mary’s Blood Center is giving away tickets to the annual JUCO World Series and all you have to do is give them a pint of blood. Each year St. Mary’s ask baseball fans to “Step up to the Plate” and donate the gift of life. Just stop by the Advanced Medicine Pavilion, across from St. Mary’s on Patterson, between 7am and 5:30pm Monday through Friday or on Saturdays from 7am to Noon and roll up your sleeve. The pint of blood you donate could save up to three lives and you get a JUCO World Series ticket.

National Salvation Army Day Celebrated In Grand Junction

The Salvation Army has been a part of Mesa County for over 100  years. And while this benevolent organization is most visible during the holidays with their Red Kettle Campaign and toy and food drives, the fact is, the Salvation Army is extremely active in the community 12 months a year, and so it is appropriate to have a week designated in their honor.
