The 18th annual Rose Hill Rally bicycle ride is scheduled for May 4. This is the first big cycling event of the season and is great motivation for cyclists to tune up the bike, dig the cycling gear out of back of the drawer and take a few practice rides before the event.

Winter's snowfall took a toll on many trees along Grand Junction's Audubon Trail. The first legitimate snow of the season was particularly heavy, and as a result, several trees suffered broken limbs, and many others were completely uprooted. With the snow now gone, the resulting damage is very easy to see.

I've lived in Grand Junction for 44 years, and have walked the Audubon trail a couple times a week since the day they built it, and have never noticed it before.
