According to the Grand Junction Free Press the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will be visiting Grand Junction on it's way from Ripple Creek Lodge above Meeker to Washington D.C.!

KKCO reported October 30th that the 73-foot-tall Colorado spruce tree was cut down in White River National Forest and will be driven by Former U.S. Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell.

2012 will be the third time that Colorado has provided the Capitol Christmas Tree. In 1990, it was provided by the Routt National Forest, and in 2000 by the Pike National Forest.

The Official website for the 2012 U.S. Capital Christmas Tree reports that they will be making stops all across the country before it's final resting place at the capitol and includes a stop here in the Cabela's parking lot of the Mesa Mall!
