I've seen it with my own eyes. A resume submitted to the head of the Music department at a small state college. The person submitting the resume', who we'll call "Freddy," included a very special footnote.

To be fair, "Freddy" had a very impressive educational background and work history. He had been a trumpet player with some significant orchestras, and taught at several good schools.

Well, life does what it does, and Freddy got up there in years, and became more and more set in his ways. He submitted his resume' to the college, written on lined paper, in pencil no less, and on both sides of the paper.

Unique as it was, it was the resume's concluding statement that kind of summarized "Freddy's" thoughts on music. The final sentence:

"Elvis Presley, The King of Rock N' Roll, killed Jazz."

For the record, we are only reporting this. "Freddy's" choice of words do not reflect our stance on the King's contribution to music.
