I'm not sure if great chefs are born with the talent, but this adorable toddler is getting a great start to learning how to mix up a batch of cookies and she's not even a year and a half old.

Thanks to a dad who was more than willing to let her break her own egg for the batter - and risk having to clean up a mess - she's on her way to baking her own cookies.

I don't remember how young I was when I started helping my mom bake, but by the time I was third grade, I could easily whip up and bake a batch of cookies on my own.

To me, this is parenting at it's best. The girl was obviously interested in learning how to make something from scratch and her parents, the dad in particular, was more than willing to indulge her desire to learn an important life skill.

I'm betting by the time this was all finished, the kitchen was probably messier than if the parents had done it, but she probably learned another important life's lesson, how to clean up after yourself. Plus, she had some delicious homemade cookies to be proud of.
