You may have noticed yesterday on Facebook that just about everyone has changed their profile pic to the Red Equal Sign. There really hasn't been much explanation on what it stands for. Well, look no further, we have the answer.

The Human Rights Campaign, an organization that supports gay marriage, has asked its social media friends to "paint Facebook red", by changing their profile pic to the Red Equal Sign. They have been successful in their social media campaign, as you can tell by looking at some of your friends Facebook profile. But why all the sudden is everyone standing behind equal rights?

Equal Rights is something many of us have stood behind for most of our lives, not just yesterday. The reason this has become so popular in the last few days is because gay marriage is going to the Supreme Court and will be discussed in the next few days. The idea has even caught the attention of a few congress men. According to ABC News, 13 Congress men have changed their tweeter profile pic to the Red Equal Sign.

I support equal rights, but I haven't changed my profile pic, and don't plan on it. Do you plan on changing your profile picture?
