UPDATE: At the bottom of the post you'll find an updated list of Grand Junction area churches offering either live services or prerecorded services via stream.

While Grand Junction church services have closed to the public due to the Coronavirus pandemic, you can still watch many services via online live streaming.

There's no need to lose touch with your church's services because of the mandated social distancing. Some churches, Grand Junction's St. Joseph's Catholic Church, for example, stream some, if not all, of their services.

St. Joseph's masses being streamed for live viewing include:

  • Daily Masses at 7:00 am, Monday through Friday
  • Spanish Masses, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday at 6:00 pm
  • Saturday at 4:30 pm
  • Sunday at 7:30 am, 9:30 am and 11:30 am

If you're like me, one of the great joys of these services would be the music. In the case of St. Joseph's, some masses will include music from the church's resident ensembles. One such example would be this Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 6 p.m. St. Joseph's music director, Javier De Los Santos, will perform, along with a minimal ensemble, as part of the celebration honoring St. Joseph. The mass will be closed to the public, but can be viewed via Facebook.

This, of course, is only one example. Other area churches, River of Life Alliance Church for one, will be videotaping a service specifically for viewing via Facebook. In this case, there will be one service taped, and then made available to the public Saturday evening.

Fellowship Church in Grand Junction is offering live streaming. Their Facebook page states:

Even when the doors cannot be opened, the church is not closed." - Fellowship Church

Please share this info. Many residents are unaware of the online viewing option. Even without the recent pandemic, there are those who lack mobility or the means to attend services in person. In St. Joseph's case, the ability to watch services via Facebook existed long before the church was closed to the public.

Here's an updated list of Grand Valley churches streaming their services.
