Your tip at Texas Roadhouse in Grand Junction is going to help Special Olympics in Colorado.

On Thursday, December 7, law enforcement personnel in Mesa County will be taking on a completely different role than looking for law-breakers. They'll be looking for community generosity through another Tip-a-Cop event.

From 5 p.m.- 9 p.m.  members of the Mesa County Sheriff's Department  and law enforcement officers from around Mesa County will be waiting on tables at Texas Roadhouse on North Avenue. All of the tips they receive will go directly to Special Olympics Colorado.

Every year, special athletes compete in 22 different events, and it is quite a special site to watch. The summer games are held at Grand Junction's Stocker Stadium. Hundreds and hundreds of athletes and volunteers gather for a huge event and it is quite the spectacle.

So, get out and enjoy a good meal on Thursday, December 7  and support Special Olympics and the efforts of Mesa County law enforcement.
