Use them ESPECIALLY for those things you're going to need right away, like cleaning supplies, etc. If you can get enough of them, moving EVERYTHING in those clear plastic bins makes moving even easier because you know what's in everything. But if you can't afford to pack everything in those, there is always the old, reliable standby.

Get Boxes

The more boxes you can get prior to the actual move, the easier the whole affair becomes because you don't have to go looking for them last minute. If you have enough advanced knowledge of when you are actually moving, having the entire house packed up by that day saves time, energy and reduces stress.

Rounding up all of your friends to help is also huge. Get those with trucks set up ahead of time, remind them of free beer and pizza and you are almost there! Of course, if you don't have any friends with trucks there are always rental options available at decent prices.

Keep your glasses from breaking by stuffing clean socks in them.

Write a short description of what's in each box and place the room name in HUGE letters so when moving it in, it goes to the right room. Wrapping dishes and other breakables in clean clothing also saves on expensive wrapping.
