Shoplifting Duo’s Heist Foiled by Being Way Too Obvious
Most shoplifters stick to stealing items that don't bring a lot of attention to themselves. This duo, actually one, in particular, didn't keep that mind during an attempted heist in Montrose.
The Montrose Police Department is trying to identify two people who are linked to an attempted theft of a flat screen TV from the Montrose Walmart.
The attempted theft occurred on Friday afternoon (March 31) when employees of the store noticed a man leaving the store with a television he hadn't paid for.
When some of the store's staff tried to talk to the man about leaving the store without paying, he dropped the TV and ran. Security footage from the store also indicates the man had a female accomplice.
If you recognize either one of these suspects or have information that could lead to their arrest, you are asked to call WestCo Dispatch at 970-249-9110.
If you want to make an anonymous tip call Montrose Regional Crime Stoppers at 970-249-8500.
