One of the many blessings of living in Western Colorado is the fact that we don't have to worry  about hurricanes - unlike our friends on the Gulf Coast who are enduring the wrath of Isaac. When you live THERE you can EXPECT hurricanes. This is the hurricane season.

But in the Grand Valley what do WE expect?  Certainly not a hurricane. With September approaching, we wonder if summer will gradually fade, or if the chill of fall will make an early entrance.

Well, here is what we can expect - based upon history. And for fun, let's play Jeopardy! -   and I'll be Alex Trebek.

The answer is:

It's the average high temperature in Grand Junction during the month of September.

The correct response is "What is 80 degrees?"  And if that's how it turns out, how nice it will be. But, of course, what we expect and what we GET  may be two different things.
