Safety Fair, Musical Entertainment Among Grand Junction Events for Weekend of February 20-23

Mesa County Safety Council and Mesa Mall are presenting the Safety Fair. Bring the kids to learn how to be safe at home, school, and play.  More than 25 booths featuring fun and educational ways to be safe. Make sure to start in the JCPenney wing to get a map of the events vendors. For every booth visited, participants will be entered into a drawing for a FREE pizza party from Nick N Willy's Pizza.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors (60+) and students (with ID). Children ages 6 and under are free with adult.

Art, entertainment packages, travel, outdoor gear, collectibles, jewelry, antiques and more. Tickets are $15 for individuals and $25 per couple.

Grand Junction High School’s performing arts department will present the musical “Peter Pan” at Grand Junction High School. Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

Grand Junction High School’s basketball teams will play Fruita Monument High School at Fruita. Boys JV game is at 4:00 p.m., girls JV game also at 4:00 p.m., girls varsity at 5:30 p.m. and boys varsity at 7:00 p.m.

Behind-the-Scenes Tours allow tour participants to enter collections storage areas that are seldom open to the public. Hundreds of artifacts not currently on display may be viewed, as well as laboratories and work areas. In addition, the exhibition halls will be open for a true museum after dark experience.

Colorado Mesa University’s Music Department presents saxophonist Stephen Page in concert. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students.

CMU Music Faculty Stephen Page will present an evening of original works for saxophone. Works by Beffa, Canfield, Benson, Kaufmann and Yashimatsu will represent pieces written specifically for saxophone. Page will also present pieces transcripted from violin repertoire by Faure and De Falla.

Admission is $5. This is an annual fundraiser for the Mesa County 4-H Council. The event will include cake walks, live and silent auctions, and selecting the best chilis from the “Pro’s” and “Joe’s” divisions.

Come on out and support and celebrate World Spay Day at Naggy McGee’s. Have dinner anytime between 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. and stay for some live entertainment. A portion of the profits from this dinner will be donated to Grand Valley Pets Alive. Help Grand Valley Pets Alive spay and neuter animals to help reduce the overpopulation in our shelters and community.

High Desert Belly Dancers will present Arabian Spices at the Clarion Inn. This event will feature special guest dancers, unique choreographies, glittering costumes, games & prizes, and drinks/cash bar. Admission is $16.

Comedian Carlos Oscar will perform at Allen Unique Autos Museum. The comedy show is scheduled to last approximately 1 ½ hours. All seating is general admission, which is first come first serve. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on day of show.

Lesson offered from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., dance from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Put on your smooth moves and learn the Argentine Tango.

Journey Home on The Worst Day of the Year - the best family fun day of the year. This family bike ride benefits HomewardBound of the Grand Valley, the local community homeless shelter. Cost is $25 for adults, $15 for kids (registration cost includes ride, gift card to eat and a t-shirt).

Spend a Sunday afternoon with seven young, talented singers from all over the country as they vie for a guest artist position with the Grand Junction Symphony during the 2014-2015 season. Tickets are $10.
