An elderly Russian woman set a world record by being the oldest person to climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Angela Vorobyova, who's 86 years old, danced atop the 19,341 mountain with one of her guides, but the 16,000 foot climb from the base of the mountain to the summit was nothing to dance about.

Vorobyova said they started out going through the forest and as she made her ascent up the mountain, her ears started ringing to the point where it was painful to talk.

She was unable to eat, relying on tea and honey to give her the energy she needed to complete the climb. The weather was also a factor with rain soaking her clothing without any place to dry it.

When asked why she endured the adversity Vorobyova said, "I believe when you start something you have to finish it."
