Reward Increased to $200,000 For Missing Colorado Woman
The reward for a missing Colorado woman has now doubled.
Suzanne Morphew, age 49 of Maysville, disappeared on Mothers Day, May 10 after going on a bike ride. She never returned home. Suzanne's husband, Barry, was out of town at the time, and offered a $100,00 reward for information about her disappearance. Thursday the reward amount was doubled to $200,000 because a family friend matched the amount.
After being reported missing by a neighbor when Suzanne failed to return home, the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office began searching immediately in the area of County Road 225 and West Highway 50. Hundreds of people have been looking for Morphew over the past week.
The area where Suzanne was biking includes part of the Colorado Trail, which is a very popular recreation area. The bike she was riding reportedly has been found, but details about the condition of the bike have not been released. According to Our Community Now, The Chaffee County Sheriff has said it's not believed she was subject to an animal attack and confirmed this is "an open, and possibly criminal investigation."
Maysville is located in central Colorado, west of Salida.
The investigation continues into Morphew's disappearance and anyone with information should call the FBI tip line at 719-312-7530. A Facebook page Find Suzanne Morphew has been set up to provide current information.
