Police Continue Search for Second Suspect in Fruita Theft
Police continue to search for a suspect in a recent robbery and assault in Fruita.
The Fruita Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Mesa County are asking for help identifying one of two men who were involved in a theft at the Fruita Co-Op, 1650 Highway 6 & 50, on Monday, August 14.
When employees of the business approached the suspects about the theft, the suspects injured two employees while fleeing the scene.
One of the suspects was located and arrested that night. The second suspect remains at large.
That suspect is a white male about 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing 150 to 170 pounds and has multiple tattoos on both arms and earrings in both ears. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a #33 blue and white jersey, white shorts and a blue baseball cap.
The suspect was last seen the next day (August 15) walking past the Fruita True Value Hardware.
