One Year Later, Lifetime Is Making a Movie About Shanann Watts’ Murder
It was a year ago that a Colorado crime grabbed the attention of the nation: the murder of Shanann Watts and her children, all of whom disappeared after she returned from a business trip.
We all remember when Chris Watts went on TV to plead for his family's safe return, the memory of which chills a lot of us to this day considering that days later, he was arrested for the murder of his family.
Lifetime has a reputation for making movies about horrific true stories like this one, which is why it's no surprise that the company has plans to dramatize this murder, and the movie is slated to come out in 2020.
According to The Denver Post, the creators of the film "somehow hope to piece together Watts’s 'mysterious motives,' which the local, state and federal authorities who worked the case for months were not able to definitely pin down."
This film might be hard to watch but shines a national light on a case that many still continue to scratch their head over ... and might, hopefully, help provide some closure.
