Montrose Police Investigating String of Thefts From Vehicles
The Montrose Police Department is investigating a significant increase in the number of thefts from vehicles recently.
One of the largest and most recent thefts happened on June 4 where several vehicles in the 1000 block of Ridge Street had windows broken out of them so items could be taken from inside the vehicle.
The previous day (June 3) someone broke out the window of a vehicle at 123 South Water Avenue to steal items inside the vehicle. There have been a number of similar thefts in Montrose recently.
Residents are reminded not to leave valuables inside their vehicle even if it is locked. They are also asked to report any information they have about the crimes and suspects in these crimes to the Montrose Police Department at 970-252-5200.
Reports can also be made anonymously by calling Montrose Regional Crime Stoppers at 970-249-8500 or by submitting a tip using the P3 Tips mobile app or website. If the tip results in an arrest, the person providing the tip is eligible for a cash reward.
