Here's something that should give you the motivation to do some spring cleaning. A free day at the East-End Landfill in Montrose.

Montrose County residents have the opportunity to take their household trash to the landfill for free from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. The free day is limited to people who live in Montrose County who want to dispose of residential, (not commercial), trash.

The landfill will take yard waste, household trash, furniture, appliances (refrigerated appliances must have a certificate of Freon removal), and household construction waste. All loads must be covered, (tarp or other covering), or they will be charged at the regular dump rate plus a no-tarp fee.

Items not accepted include hazardous waste, batteries, special waste such as materials containing asbestos, and out of county waste.

Electronics and tires are accepted but are not eligible for free dumping. Electronics disposal will be charged 45-cents per pound and must be separated from other trash. Tires will be charged between $4.45 and $8.92 depending on size.

The East-West Landfill is located at 67999 Landfill Road in Montrose. For more information Click Here or call 970-249-8497.
