Vaccinated Mesa County Residents Get Chance At Over $45,000

If you are a fully vaccinated resident of Mesa County, you have a chance to win some serious cash.

Vaccination Incentive

While the state of Colorado is gearing up for a series of $1 million drawings for vaccinated residents, Mesa County is adding some incentive at the local level it hopes will motivate more people to get vaccinated. So far, just 37% of Mesa County residents are fully vaccinated and the goal is to reach 70%. Maybe a cash incentive will help get that number higher.

According to Mesa County Public Health, there are two ways to win cash. One is for newly vaccinated residents and one is for everyone who has received the COVID-19 vaccination.

Here's How It Works

Each week during June and July, Mesa County Public Health will give away two $500 cash prizes to newly vaccinated residents either first dose or second dose. All you have to do is complete the entry form with your most recent vaccination date. That means if you have not received the COVID-19 vaccine yet, you will have two chances to win the $500 - one after the first dose and one after the second.

What If I've Already Been Vaccinated

Everyone who is fully vaccinated will have a chance to win the grand prize, which is at least $45,000 but that amount is already going up. Right now, the jackpot sits at $49, 704 and will go up one dollar every time someone is vaccinated. The jackpot could reach as high as $90,000. The grand prize will be determined by the number of Mesa County residents who are fully vaccinated by July 31, 2021.

Unlike the state vaccination lottery where residents supposedly don't have to register or enter to win, the Mesa County lottery requires residents to submit an entry which you can do right here. You'll put in an email address that takes you to a simple entry form where you will fill out your name, postal code, date of vaccination, and you're in.

Obviously, there are a lot of people who aren't going to be vaccinated for any amount of money, but hopefully, the cash incentive in Mesa County along with the state's million-dollar drawings will get fence-sitters to go ahead and commit to the vaccine and help get us to the goal.
