Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Searching for Home Invasion Suspect
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is asking for help locating a person who broke into a home and attacked the homeowner.
The home invasion, which law enforcement believe may have been a burglary attempt, happened around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday (April 23).
The resident of the home in the 300 block of Sunnyside Court awakened and saw a person watching them from outside their bedroom.
The male suspect then broke into the home and attacked the resident who was able to grab a gun and frighten the intruder into leaving the home.
The home's resident received only minor injuries and authorities confirmed there were no shots fired during the altercation.
The suspect is described as a black male mid-to-late thirties. He is approximately 5-feet9-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall with a medium build.
The suspect also has a short beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office would like anyone who believes they may have seen the suspect in the neighborhood around the time of the crime to call them at 970-244-3262.
The Sheriff's Office is also asking anyone who may know the suspect or have other information that would assist in the suspect's arrest to contact them.
