Veterans Day is a holiday to honor those that have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and it means most city, county, state, and federal offices are closed.
Here's a look at some of what is and isn't happening on Wednesday in Mesa County.
- No mail delivery
- City trash service is on regular schedule
- City offices are closed
- State Drivers License Offices Closed
- Grand Junction Police Department( including GJPD Records and Front Counter. Emergency services resume as normal)
Mesa County Offices that are closed include:
- Commissioners, Treasurer, Assessor
- Administration and Resource Management
- Attorney's Office
- Clerk and Recorder
- District Attorney
- Health and Human Services
- Hazard Waste and Solid Waste Administration
- Public Works and Planning
- Regional Transportation Planning Office
- Sheriff's Office
- Workforce Center
- Mesa County Libraries
The closure does not include:
- Criminal Justice Services
- Grand Valley Transit
- Sheriff's Office - Jail, Patrol, Emergency
- Mesa County Landfill and Compost Facilities
- Animal Services open 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Most banks will be closed, and most retail business will be open.
