UPDATED: Man Thought to Have Pointed Gun at Mesa County Sheriff Deputy
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is attempting to locate a person believed to have pointed a gun at a Deputy on Saturday (February 4) at a Clifton store.
[UPDATED February 7] The Mesa County Sheriff's Office says the people involved in this incident have been identified and are cooperating with investigators.
[ORIGINAL STORY] The Sheriff's Office reports the incident occurred at the C&F Food Store on 32 Road at about 10:44 a.m. when a person shopping at the store noticed a man in a silver Toyota sedan pointing what appeared to be a rifle or long gun at a Deputy who was also parked at the store.
Surveillance video from the store indicates there were four people in the vehicle including the suspect, another man, a woman and a young boy.
Based on the video, the suspect is believed to be between 45 and 55 years old. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a red shirt and light colored jacket.
The other adult male, who may be related to the suspect, is approximately 30 years old and was wearing dark colored clothing and a hat. The female is also estimated to be about 30 years old.
The Toyota the suspect was driving was last seen traveling south on 32 Road.
