I'll get to the life's lesson part of this in a moment. First, details about a lunchtime credit card heist and the thieves who spent an afternoon shopping on someone else's accounts.

The theft happened on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 when suspects broke the driver's side window on a vehicle parked in the 2700 block of G Road. Once inside, the thieves took credit cards from a purse in the vehicle.

A man and a woman then spent the afternoon shopping at Michael's, Murdoch's Ranch and Home Supply, Smoker Friendly, and Bradley Sinclair at 3218 F Road. The total of the fraudulent charges is over $1,800.

The life lesson is this. Never leave anything valuable in your vehicle in sight, even if the vehicle is locked and it is the middle of the day. It's a good idea to keep valuable things  locked in the trunk. The best thing to do is to take valuables with you so they're not in the vehicle.

The police are still trying to locate the suspects in this burglary and hope you can provide some information about the suspects involved. If you have information that may be helpful call Crime Stoppers of Mesa County at 970-241-7867 or file a report through the Crime Stoppers website or via the P3Tips app.

All information submitted is completely anonymous and if the information provided leads to an arrest, you can earn a cash reward of up to $1,000 without revealing your identity.
