Disney Plus Will Only Be For the Rich Soon in Colorado
Do you remember when Disney Plus was first announced? Many were excited at the chance to see some of their favorite movies and shows, and watch childhood shows they hadn't seen in years, all on one streaming service. The world had just gone into a shutdown, and it was the perfect time to be home streaming movies and shows you hadn't seen in years and getting familiar with this new streaming service. Do you remember how much Disney Plus cost when it first came out? If the streaming service continues to go up in price, soon Colorado residents won't be able to afford it.
The Cost of Disney Plus in Colorado

Disney Plus is one of the most popular streaming services in the world. They are bundled with Hulu and ESPN, and they offer shows and movies that many grew up watching, new releases, and shows that are exclusive to the streaming service. There is something for everyone. You can watch Marvel movies, cartoons, classics, and much more. Originally, when the streaming service came out in 2020, it only cost $6.99. Obviously, there was not as much content as there is now, and as more has been added, the price has gone up. In 2021, the price increased by a dollar to $7.99, but then made a bigger jump the following year, going up to $10.99 in 2022. The increases would take a year off, but wouldn't stop there, as in 2024 another jump took place, increasing the cost to $13.99, before the biggest jump yet, going up to $17.99 in 2025, and currently being $18.99 in 2026.
How High Will Disney Plus Prices Go in Colorado

Other than 2023, the price has increased every year since Disney Plus launched. According to predictionist.com, it is a yearly increase of 28.6% per year. At the rate that the price is going up, Disney Plus would cost $235 a month twenty years from now, in 2036. Sadly, Disney Plus is not the only streaming service increasing in price. Many things are continuing to rise in cost, but few are making more money to offset this higher cost of living. Many have multiple streaming services, but as the prices increase, tough decisions will have to be made, and some services will become unaffordable and only be available to the rich.
